I don’t usually post reviews, let alone of this length and detail, but honestly this bag has been AMAZING!!! I had hummed and haaed about it for absolutely ages given the price point, but I can confirm it is worth every penny. The Huddo team has not cut corners on anything! The material is lux, it’s so versatile and so obviously designed by a parent/family that’s on the go, and the customer service is excellent. So now for the details…
Our baby is now 9-months old. The first nappy bag we bought before the arrival of bub was the OiOi, and don’t get me wrong— the OiOi is a spacious, excellent bag and its own right, however I’ve now made that our babies swim class bag and we use the Huddo as our main day-to-day, and traveling bag.
— Testing Ground —
As our daily diaper bag it’s been to the shops, zoo, play dates, and it has been on 12 flights (domestic and international) with our family.
— Material —
Looks and feels lux and it is durable! It’s impressive because even the little details like the quality of the carabiner clips, and the straps are very durable, but also aesthetically pleasing. It was actually so nice that I was a bit worried our family would be too rough with the bag. I can confirm though it is tough and can handle drops, spills, multiple terrain (think sticky floors, dusty areas) etc. without loosing its shine.
— Space and Organization—
Initially, when I unpacked the Huddo, I thought it was less spacious than the OiOi and to be honest panicked a bit. But I can get just as much if not more into the Huddo in an organized way. I found I was having to pull absolutely everything out of the OiOi bag when trying to find something, and it got particularly challenging if I had to direct somebody to get something from the bag for me … they always had trouble finding it. Since getting the Huddo though, I can pack and re-pack the bag sparingly and strategically which saves me a heap of time and it’s so easy for other people to find something when they’re helping me. I can’t believe how many versatile and handy panels and pockets this bag has. Often I found bags have features that on paper make sense but in reality are useless - e.g. the pockets are not deep enough or not wide enough or a pouch in a particular area ends up being more of a hassle then a help. It’s been the exact opposite with this bag, there are pouches and side-pockets in places you don’t think you need one until you realize there’s so much you can do with them!
— The Magic Wipes Dispenser —
Need I say more? This feature alone is brilliant! The faster our baby, the more I find myself leaning on it. It’s really easy to fill up with wipes, (which stay moist!), and I can dispense them with one hand which is very useful during diaper changes or when food spills happen. I got the accompanying cross-body mom bag as well with this feature and LOVE it!! It’s stylish, and a good size without looking clunky. They’ve come out with a new strap as well which I’ll be purchasing as well.
— Weight and Ergonomics —
I am not a light packer (unfortunately) and given some ongoing post-partum pelvic pain was worried the bag would be or get too heavy for me. I find I can wear it quite comfortable though, and it sits nicely on my back which makes it easier to carry my baby when I hold him simultaneously.
— Bottom Line —
Is it an expensive bag? Yes.
Are the features and quality really worth it? Absolutely.
Would I get it again? — In a heart beat! It gives me such peace of mind. I can stay organized, comfortable and stylish. I didn’t think a bag could save me so much time.
Should you get it? — If you can make the price work you should definitely get it! You won’t regret the purchase. If you can’t, consider putting it on your gift registry and maybe a few friends/family can chip in and get it for you — honestly, it’s such a practical gift instead of yet another set of baby clothes they’ll grow out of too quickly!
I hope this review helped you somehow, and congrats if you actually finished reading it!
